On Saturday 25 October 2008 storm, a group of heavily armed men, allegedly members of the Maoist New People's Army (NPA), the prison and freed seven prisoners of Lucena. Among these are liberated Carabido Gerson, the suspected leader of the Farmer of bathroom Deolito "Julie" Empas (see blog entry with IPON interviews May).
Deolito "Julie" Empas was kidnapped on 19 February 2008 from a Videokebar and 8 been found dead in May from the police a hole in the ground. Gerson Carabido was in Lucena un custody after he had led the police to the hole in the ground and confessed that they had buried Julie Deolito. Against Gerson Carabido was under investigation for alleged kidnapping and murder.
In the attack, the NPA on the prison in Lucena two policemen and two civilians were injured. The eyewitness in Morfall "Julie" Empas should be located under this exemption in acute danger.
